Exterior House Painting
Exterior paint protects your home from moisture, sun and Pennsylvania's freeze-thaw seasons, and it is the first thing people notice. Pureform Painting assesses each surface, prepares it properly and chooses coatings suited to the material, for homes across Delaware County and nearby Chester and Montgomery County communities.
We typically respond to inquiries within one business day.

Exterior surfaces we paint
Vinyl siding
Vinyl can often be painted when the siding is in good condition and the color is chosen carefully. Very dark colors can make vinyl absorb heat and warp, so we review suitable colors and use coatings made for vinyl. Not every vinyl siding or color is a good candidate, and we will tell you honestly if yours isn't.
Aluminum siding
Aluminum siding is cleaned thoroughly to remove chalky residue and dirt, spot-primed where needed and finished with an exterior coating suited to metal.
Wood siding
Wood is scraped and sanded where paint is failing, bare wood is primed and gaps are caulked where appropriate before finish coats go on.
Trim, fascia and soffits
Trim, fascia and soffits frame the house and take a lot of weather. They are prepared and painted with the same care as the siding.
Exterior doors and shutters
Front doors and shutters get a smooth, durable finish that suits the style of the home.
Stucco and masonry
Stucco and masonry need different preparation and breathable coatings. We check cracks and moisture first and only recommend painting where it suits the surface.
How we prepare and paint an exterior
- 01
Surface assessment
We walk around your home, check each material and point out failing paint, damaged areas and moisture concerns.
- 02
Washing and drying
Surfaces are washed to remove dirt, mildew and chalky residue, then given time to dry before painting.
- 03
Scraping, sanding and caulking
Loose paint is scraped, rough edges are sanded and appropriate joints are caulked. Gaps that need to drain or move are left open.
- 04
Priming as needed
Bare wood, repairs and surfaces that need better adhesion are primed. Not every surface needs a full primer coat.
- 05
Coatings for each surface
We choose coatings for each material, often from Sherwin-Williams' exterior lines, rather than one product for the whole house.
- 06
Final walkthrough
We walk the exterior with you and take care of any touch-ups.

Common questions
When is the best time to paint a house exterior in Pennsylvania?
Exterior painting is done when temperature, humidity and dry weather let the paint go on and cure properly, usually from spring through fall. Exact conditions depend on the product used.
What happens if it rains during my project?
We watch the forecast and only paint when surfaces are dry and conditions are suitable. Rain or high humidity can shift the schedule, and we keep you informed when that happens.
How do you protect my landscaping and windows?
Plants, walkways, windows, lights and nearby surfaces are covered or masked as needed, and we clean up at the end of each day.
What are signs my house needs repainting?
Peeling or flaking paint, faded or chalky siding, cracked caulk and bare or soft wood are common signs. Catching them early helps protect the surfaces underneath.
Can vinyl siding be painted any color?
No. Some colors, especially very dark ones, can cause vinyl to overheat and warp. We review suitable colors for your siding before painting.
Is exterior work covered by a warranty?
Yes. Our painting is backed by a 3-year workmanship warranty, and we explain what it covers when we provide your estimate.
